Graduation ceremony of Priyamvada Birla Institute of Nursing
KOLKATA, 10 MAY—Learn to ask questions, since what you read in your text books is not enough to take you forward in your career, said Dr Sujishnu Mukhopadhyay, OSD, Planning, Development, Academics & Examination Affairs, West Bengal University of Health Sciences, in Kolkata today. He was addressing nursing students at the 5th Lamp Lighting, Oath Taking and Graduation ceremony of Priyamvada Birla Institute of Nursing, Kolkata. He added: “Education gives you the taste of amrita, but you have to struggle hard to get it”. He praised the Institute for its all-round initiative to train nurses of tomorrow.
Mr Pradip Tondon, CEO, Belle Vue Clinic, referred to the initiative of late Priyamvada Birla to set up thr Institute so that skilled nurses are available to provide the much required back-up to healthcare services. Shri Tondon encouraged the students to get into the profession of nursing with confidence and make the best use of their learning. The Nursing Institute is a unit of Belle Vue Clinic of the MP Birla Group.
Prof. Dipa Sarkar Dey, Principal, PBIN, made an informative presentation, detailing the footprints of the Institute. In all 35 students were given awards for their performance. Debolina Boral was adjudged the best outgoing student in the GNM category while Ritu Chakraborty received recognition for her performance in BSc Nursing.
